Justice Diaries…. Alone Together

“What are you doing here, Paris?” I asked. He just sat on my bed and looked around! Paris seemed really out of it for a moment. As mad as I was as him, I did not have the nerve to fight him. I could have fought Paris as I have on many occasions, but I didn’t think that I needed to.
“Nice place Justice” Paris said smiling. “I want a place like this!” He laughed. He then got up and stumbled over to the mantle and looks at the pictures I had up of my family and friends. He picked up and picture I had of he and Koala.
“You still have this?” He asked. “That’s weird…Would have thought you got rid of these pictures.” Paris said. “But you didn’t.”
“I kept them.” I said. “Why are you here?” I asked him. Paris continued to survey the room. He looked through the pictures; he walked past the balcony overlooking the view.
“I’m certain you didn’t rent this place on your album sales… I mean, come on… Slumpsville!” Paris said. “I want this house!” He continued and sat back on the bed.
“Paris… Come on!” Paris took a moment to think. He sat quietly for about ten seconds and said,
“I know that I’m a mess. I know that I fucked up, but I’m trying.”
“Trying to do what?” I asked. “Ruin my life? What you tried to do to me was low.” I said. ” The rumors, the prank calls, the fake ass death threats; they were low.” Paris diverted eye contact as if he felt some sort of guilt.
“I know and I’m sorry!” Paris said. “I feel so bad about those things. I was trying to get back at you and everything just spiraled out of control.” Paris said. “I got tired of you being so damn self-righteous! You act like you never made mistakes.”

“I make mistakes all the time, but I own up to them. However, I know that this is business. The same way you wouldn’t fuck up in a normal 9-5, is the same way you shouldn’t fuck up in this business.” I explained. “The network asked you to just show up and do your job. You can do whatever you want as long as it doesn’t fuck up production. You and Koala couldn’t even do that right!”
“We were giving the cameras something interesting to watch. That’s all! The drama added an interesting storyline.” Paris smiled.
“The show was practically scripted… The directors made their own story lines by putting you guys in different situations.” Paris got up and started yelling.
“I came here to try to reason with you, but I see that’s not going to happen.” Paris yelled. “Fuck you Justice. All you care about is yourself. You stole the show from me, that wasn’t about me, that was about you being selfish and jealous of me and my image. You are jealous of how popular I am.” Paris yelled. My eyes widened. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
“Bitch, please!” I said. “I created you!” I laughed. “I created you. I gave you your career and I took it back the second you decided to step out of line.” I yelled. “I am nowhere near jealous of you. But I do feel sorry for you. You could have been so much more than what you are. You have no one to blame for any of this, but yourself”

Paris jumped up and swung at me, but he stumbled and I pushed him. He stumbled to the floor. Paris then jumped up to hit me again, this time he landed a smack dead in my face. I slapped him back. We tussled like two girls over a hairbrush. I’m not certain if anyone else in the house heard us fighting with the music being extra loud. But Paris and I were yelling and cussing at each other as if we were lovers having a quarrel in on 5th Avenue. I finally pinned Paris down choking him.
“Go ahead. Kill me.” Paris choked up. Coughing and breathing deeply. I looked into Paris eyes; he had a little more fight in him. I didn’t want to kill Paris; I just wanted him to get his shit together. I climbed off of him and decided to lie next to him on the bed as he tried to catch his breath. I wrapped my arms around him; he at first started to pull away, but then dropped his guard.
“I don’t want to kill you Paris. You’re my family. I’ve known you most of my life.I just want you to get your shit together.”
“I know and I’m trying. I promise I’m trying.” Paris said. Then, in Paris fashion he said. “And I was probably wrong for what I did, but you forgive me… blah blah blah. Emotions. I’m don’t wanna cry. Mariah Carey.” I smiled. Then Paris tried to sing “Don’t wanna cry/ nothing in this world could …”
“Okay… I get it. You’re sorry. Just don’t sing.” I laughed.
“That’s my favorite part. I love Mariah Carey.” He reflected. For a moment it felt like old times. Paris was in my bed trying to sing as I held him for no real reason other than the fact that we were sappy gays who had a weird love/hate relationship bonded together by love. I wasn’t a celebrity with hundreds of people having a party at my house. And Paris wasn’t a drunken socialite who was questioning his life. At this moment, Paris and I were friends. We were the boys who thought big and wanted our dreams to come true. We were family who regardless of a few squabbles and breaks, we would find a way to talk things out sooner or later. Even if weeks, months or years pass after a fight; family is eternal.
“I do too.” I said smiling. “I love Mariah too.”

THREE MONTHS LATER…

After taking some time off, I released a new album under GEFFEN records. Reckless Behavior would go on to be my first multi-platinum album. I formed a new back called Justice and the Kids. My band mates, Trevor, Ray, Noel and Jason would become my touring family and the start of a new drama brewing. My drummer, Trevor and I dated very exclusively until he cheated with my cousin Kevin’s Lawyer. My sister Lynette and I started a fashion line. Under J.U.S.T.I.C.E Inc. and Socialite Productions; I green lit over a dozen movies and television Shows. Starting with Paris is Burning: The ReUp which is a reality television show that follows Paris as he takes on the world sober…
Paris regains his spotlight and takes on the publishing and film world. Paris published Socialite Confessions; Live to Tell. A New York Times Bestseller under my publishing staple, Hardcore Covers. Paris also writes a fashion blog for VOGUE magazine.
Koala, landed HERself in jail for possession of heroin. Koala transitioned from male to female as she’s always felt that there was something missing in her life. That something happened to have been a vagina. After jail, Koala became the co-host host of 106 and Park on BET and the first plus size Transgender model for Victoria Secret. She also married her on-again off-again boyfriend Benjamin; then annulled the marriage after 72 days.
While filming my interview for 20/20, Katie Couric asked me about my friendship with Paris.
“The whole world saw you guys practically tear each other apart in the media. Still you paid for him to get his life together and you helped him get a new start. What do you have to say to those critics out there who think you should have left him in the dust?”
I thought about it for a moment. I’m human, so I have to admit that I have thought about it. I’ve thought about leaving Paris hanging. Why not? It would be the normal thing to do after all of the bullshit He put me through. But my mother always told me that people have faults. We are all imperfect. God forgives our flaws and I should always forgive the flaws of others. But at the end of the day, it didn’t matter what I said to the critics, they would never understand… I try not to concern myself with what anyone has to say about my relationships with others, It’s nobody’s business.
So I said.
“Frankly, they could kiss my ass.” I laughed.
